Prayer Walk @ Camosun College

Skyler, the new Campus Ministry Apprentice (CMA) with Sunago in January 2013, and I went for a prayer-walk around Camosun College yesterday afternoon.

We saw this girl who was spray-brushing a big mural on a bike shelter and felt led by the Spirit to strike up a conversation. We had a great talk. She's a graduate student who's been into Buddhist meditation, and I, having just studied Buddhism for my summer course on World Religions, was able to bridge the gap between the lotus and the cross, between enlightenment and being born by the Spirit and coming to know Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I felt like God wanted me to tell her about how much he loves her and thinks that she's beautiful in his eyes and that he loves her art and how she makes her surroundings beautiful. We shared the gospel of the grace of Christ Jesus and prayed with her. It was a wonderful encounter. I really believe that the Holy Spirit was speaking to her and stirring her heart.

We continued our prayer walk for another hour or so and then I went home and praised God through the evening, truly a wonderful day. :)
