Refreshed from the Staff Retreat

We had such a wonderful time in Kelowna for 3 days with staff from our 10 campuses across BC. We laughed, we prayed, we worshipped, we ate. We shared resources, encouraged one another, and we planned for future events and endeavors.

Tuesday morning I had the privilege to lead our staff in praise leading up to our speaker's talk about "Margins". He and his wife shared about their experience with burnout and how we can be proactively preventing burnout and continue to run the marathon of faith with perseverance.

I learned some really good advice about rest and I've been trying to apply them to my life now. One thing that was important for me to learn is that I can't let others set my pace for my race. I'm a husband and father, I can't compare how many hours I put into ministry to that of a missionary without spouse and kids. I will run the marathon of faith with perseverance and passion at the pace Jesus sets for me, keeping my eyes fixed on Christ, the author and perfect or of my faith. Hebrews 12:1-2
