Pioneer Project
Campus ministry is similar to church planting: Our group is always changing, students are graduating and finding jobs abroad, and every year we encounter a new wave of students who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ before. But we don't want to stop here, only sowing seeds at UVic, there's other campuses in which we want to reach-out to, like Camosun College.
So one of my summer projects is to scope-out Camosun College and see how we can extend a ministry for Christ on its two campuses (Interurban and Lansdowne).
So I'm researching the demographics (how many students attend this college and which faculties are most popular) and writing out strategies for how we would minister within the first year. I have to write a plan for how we would build community, what I would teach the students in discipleship, how I will protect myself from burn-out, and how I would fund-raise and budget for the club.
How would you plan to reach a commuter college of 18,000 students of 160 different programs?

HistoryMaker2012
I attended the UCM booth, connecting with students from across BC and letting them know about Christian community in BC's various universities and colleges.
I also had the privilege of speaking at one of History Maker's breakout hubs on the topic of "What you need to know @University #Important", with ~20 young adults within grade 11 and 12, helping them with the transition from grade 12 to 1st year at University.

Western North-American Leaders Conference
Despite major car breakdowns, Bethi and I had a deeply formative weekend at a conference in Trail, BC.
We learned a lot about:
We learned a lot about:
- Raising-up leaders
- Taking risks
- Being a relational and a missional community
- The ministry of the Holy Spirit
- God speaking through His people today
Mark 3:13 "And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him. 14 And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach".
