The Joy of planting and watering!

The last few weeks, I've been so priviledged to see God do a saving work in the lives of many. And I am humbly reminded of Paul's words in 1Corinthians3: "5What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth."
Lives being changed.
Crowns cast down before the throne of God.
Families tearfully rejoicing.
What a priviledge and joy.

SHARING FAITH: Spiritual Surveys

This year at Sunago, we've started a group called "Sharing Faith", where James and Dave have been equipping students with a biblical understanding of how to tell other students about the Gospel. Now ready to apply their knowledge and skills, the students from the Sharing Faith group have organized several events in the next few weeks in which they will have the opportunity to share their faith with others. In our first event (in the picture above), 8 students went out in groups of two to conduct spiritual surveys with students around them. The students of our group had excellent stories to tell at the end of the night with wonderful experiences encouraging them that sharing their faith isn't as intimidating as they thought.

Here are the spiritual survey questions:

1.What do you study?
2.What is your religious background? Do you attend or have you attended church/synagogue/temple?
3.What is your experience with Christianity?
4.Do you believe in God?
5.Do you think that spirituality is still important today? Why or why not?
6.Who do you think Jesus was?
7.(Question for follow-up if they're in sciences) Do you think science and religion contradict one another?
8.If you could ask God any question, what would it be?
9.What do you think the central message of Christianity is?

God is stirring hearts!

There are many in our midst at UVic who are feeling the love of God drawing them to Him. These are exciting times! Only God can bring life and true devotion into someone's life, lets pray for His Holy Spirit to move!
"And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh". - Ezekiel 36:26

Adventures After Campus Ministry

One of our grads at Sunago followed the calling of Jesus to Flin Flon, Manitoba and has been on adventure since then. This Skype conversation I had with him will be shown at Sunago this tuesday.

At Sunago we want to equip students to think thoroughly, love deeply, and live fully for the glory of Christ. And I think that Tim's story highlights that vision well.

Thank You!

My thank you's to a few of my faithful supporters!

Fridaynight Faithtalk

In the past 2 months, on friday nights, we've been watching and discussing a small-group series called "Reason for God" by Tim Keller. The discussions, based on common objections to the Christian faith, have been very insightful and have helped us learn how to engage in these topics on a university campus.

Sunago Worship Workshop

We had James Liira from Adore, a graduate from Hillsong School of Worship Music, led our worship team through a workshop on how to lead the people of God through praise.

Intro to Addison as Campus Minister

I used to party-hard; but now I praise God. I had no clue of who Christ was in my second year of University. However, coming to Sunago UCM (the campus ministry I am now a part of), I received prayer and I heard the gospel for the first time in my life.
Sunago played a huge role in my conversion to Christ, and soon after, I got baptized at Sunago (in the freezing-cold ocean)! It was also at Sunago where I first had the chance to get involved in bible studies, city-ministry, international missions, student retreats, growth through a position in leadership, and I am now very excited to be able to serve at UVic as Sunago’s full-time missionary apprentice.
My hope is that God will use me to nurture and equip students to become mature Christians, fully clothed in God's spiritual armour, and emanating the fruits of the spirit wherever they go as ambassadors of Christ.
Follow my steps on this wonderful adventure along the paths of God's glorious plan!
The University is a missions field where students are asking questions about the meaning of life, about their purpose, about Love, and about Truth.
Along with the help of mentoring pastors, I will immerse myself in the culture where post-modernism thrives, where immorality is rampant, and where secularism is the status-quo.

Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." - Matthew 9:37-38
